Dr. Michelle Hoyt specializes in the medical management of all ocular diseases as well as general eye exams. She is competent with soft and hard contact lens fittings, pre- and post-operative refractive surgery care including LASIK, pre- and post-operative cataract surgery care, diabetic, glaucoma and comprehensive eye exams. She strives to provide the best primary eye care to you and your family and looks forward to building a long-term relationship with her patients. She is a member of the American Academy of Optometry.
Dr. Hoyt graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior and a minor in Comparative Literature. She then received her Doctor of Optometry degree at Western University of Health Sciences. She furthered her training with an Ocular Disease residency at Aran Eye in Miami Florida, where she gained experience in diagnosing and treating complex eye diseases. Afterwards, she worked as a Medical Optometrist at UCLA's Olive View Hospital in Los Angeles CA. Dr. Hoyt then practiced in private practice in the Washington DC area before moving back to her home state.
She has successfully completed many years in advance ocular disease management and treatment education. Dr. Hoyt has published research on cataract growth and on minimally invasive glaucoma surgery.
